About Keri Marino, C-IAYT
I didn't come to this work because I was good at yoga.
I came because I needed it to survive.
I came because I needed it to survive.

I grew up in a home full of love, play and family gatherings — and also confusion, heartbreak and the kind of quiet pain that nobody names for you.. And there were so many things that I needed that I didn't know how to ask for and no one knew how to give. Ultimately, I didn't know when the bottom would drop out...again.
Growing up I navigated a smorgasbord of childhood trauma painted by dramatic family struggles & mental health issues including public scandals, divorce and unpredictability, and the particular wounds that come from a faith tradition that taught me to distrust my own body and self. The church gave me so much - but also taught me to fear God and that my body was something to monitor, manage and be ashamed of. Not inhabit. At 14, just becoming a young woman and on the heels of so much trauma, I entered a relationship with someone slightly older than me. What happened over the next two years was sexual coercion in a multilayered controlling and abusive relationship. One I wouldn't even begin to understand until sitting in a sex ed classroom and learning about grooming and sexual manipulation. The wind knocked out of me. My throat locked. I couldn't speak and I didn't tell anyone for more than a decade. |
These aren't footnotes in my story.
They are the reason I do this work.
What followed was years of chronic pain, debilitating headaches, anxiety that never fully left and an eating disorder that was really just a girl trying to find the one thing she could control and cope with. I was never broken, but I wasn't whole. I was always in awe of Spirit, but I had lost my connection to it.
I was strong, resilient, capable...but I wasn't happy. I had a body that had learned the only way to survive was to stop being felt from the inside and stay vigilant.
Then yoga came into my life.
Not as exercise, but as healing.
As the first place I had ever felt - even briefly, even imperfectly - what it was like to feel at home and comfortable in my own skin and in touch with my soul.
Something cracked open. And I spent, the next two decades learning how to stay and go deeper.
I did so much yoga, it became my way of living. Lots of therapy and inner work. Journaled. Read. Built a beautiful life, yoga career, marriage and family. And still- something was just out of reach. It wasn't until the devastating loss of my child due to miscarriage and the following birth of my daughter (my second child) that something in me broke open in a different way. I began a multi-year journey into finally understanding what had actually happened to me - and what it had cost me. Into learning what it meant to actually receive and expand. To feel pleasure without leaving my body to get there. To discovering that safety and connection with myself was possible beyond what I ever imagined.
I'm 40 years old now. I feel more at home in my body & soul now than I ever have. More free. More alive. More myself. Not because everything is fixed or perfect now, but because I finally stopped leaving myself.
This is why I do this work.
For over 17 years I have guided thousands of women through somatic yoga therapy, inner work + nervous system healing with devotional practice - helping them bridge the gap between everything they know in their minds and what their bodies are still waiting to feel.
I specialize in working with self-aware women who have done years of real productive inner work - personal growth, therapy, journaling and yoga practice - and still feel like something essential is just out of reach. Women who experienced childhood trauma, religious shame, sexual abuse and the kind of early wounding that taught them their body wasn't a safe place to be. Women who are tired of living from the neck up. Women who are ready for the kind of healing that goes all the way down.
My approach blends somatic yoga therapy, trauma informed nervous system work, restorative yoga and devotional practice with emotional processing and soul-led integration. It works on all four pillars of who you are - body, mind, soul and life - because real healing doesn't just happen in one of them.
My teaching is known for being calm, grounding, deeply compassionate and uniquely powerful. I honor yoga's roots while making it practical and transformative for real women navigating motherhood, relationships, grief, trauma, growth and expansion.
At the heart of everything is a simple desire - helping women learn how to love themselves (every sacred part) - no matter what. Especially in the tender, messy in-between places of life.
