Why you need nervous system work and how to do it.

Thinking, talking and mindset work are only part of the story. You have a body, mind and spirit. 💡

The things that weigh you down and hold you back like unprocessed experiences, emotions and pain (trauma) still impact you because of nervous system.

These things get imprinted on your nervous system.

The state of your nervous system dictates body sensation, thoughts, feelings, creativity, behavior and so much more.


Your nervous system develops patterns (default settings) that is wires to and will continue to operate from that baseline unless you work on it.

Meaning you keep repeating patterns, mind spirals and feeling stuck despite the mental work.
If you are putting in the work to grow and heal, but leaving out your nervous system.
Its like driving a car with flat tires.
It won't get you to where you want to be past a certain point.

Here is what you can do about it...
💡Learn about your nervous system and make the conscious decision to love on it.

Women on a growth and healing journey...Trust in the baby steps.

Oftentimes we want growth and healing to be big, fast and dramatic. I get it, you are ready to feel differently. 

Sustainable growth and healing are mostly about slowing down, getting curious and accessing the wisdom inside you. 

Your nervous system needs time to balance and recalibrate. 

So take the pressure off and see the magnitude of the small, gentle progress you are making. Celebrate the baby steps, which are actually monumental quiet shifts inside you. 

These are the moments where you see possibilities to nourish yourself in some way... 

Whether through slowing down, drinking a glass of water or an emotional check in. 

Rolling out your yoga mat, doing a guided meditation or pausing before answering someone.

Somatic Yoga: What it is and why you need it.

Somatic yoga is the yoga for people on a growth and healing journey. 

If you're walking the path of growth and healing, it's important to know that not all styles of physical yoga are good for you.

Some are super fast contributing to nervous system dysregulation, others try to help  you relax but leave you feeling anxious instead and some simply aren't trauma informed so they unintentionally perpetuate trauma responses that you're trying to recover from.  

Somatic yoga is the answer to all of this, especially if it's being offered by a Trauma Informed Yoga Therapist or seasoned Yoga Teacher. 

Somatic yoga combines yoga and somatic healing principles.

It's designed to balance your nervous system, improve your self-awareness and resiliency with a purposefully focuses on improving your wellbeing physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually.
